Bless the Works of My Hands

Our world has portrayed the way to wealth as something that can happen overnight; in some circumstances so has the church.


Resolution:

Change of mind (not the pie in the sky)

Rom 12:1-2

1 Co 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.




Implementation:

  1. Study

Work Ethics

Poor Work Ethics

  1. 1 Timothy 5:8 (NIV) Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.


  1. Pro 20:4 The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.


  1. Pro 13:4 The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.


  1. Proverbs 21:25 The craving of the slacker kills him because his hands refuse to work.


  1. Proverbs 24:34 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.


  1. Proverbs 6:9-11 How long will you lie there, O slacker? When will you get up from your sleep? 10 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, 11 and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and need like a bandit

The LORD grants success to the one whose behavior he finds commendable. (NET)

When the LORD your God blesses you as He has promised, you will lend to many nations but borrow from none; you will rule over many nations but be ruled by none.

Prayer for wisdom

James 1:5

When you fail to ask

Joshua fails to consult with God

Conclusion

The harvestman who labours in the field must be the first to get a share of the crop.

  1. 1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
